Amazing Basement Kitchen
A myriad of dark, small rooms and spaces made up the basement of this city centre property. Eager to maintain the interior architecture which includes vaulted ceilings, the smaller unusable spaces were knocked through to facilitate a new dining area, kitchen and utility.
Playing on the naturally ‘dark & moody’ subterranean feel of the basement, a minimalist kitchen was designed with a blue-steel finish to the doors and extra long steel handles. Off-white textured Italian plaster to the vaulted ceiling reflects low level concealed background light overhead, with bronze pendants and spotlights providing task lighting to the kitchen island. Metallic copper subway tiles and grey mirror add glamour - further reflecting light throughout. Contrasting luxury wall and ceiling finishes in the dining room compliment the centre piece - a large contemporary oak and glass table surrounded by eight wire-frame leather chairs.
